To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all – Oscar Wilde
I was prompted to write this post following my face chat with a good friend of mine – a scientist a person whom I admire a lot because of his full commitment not only to his profession, but notably his commitment of being a generous human being. And so I consider myself a very happy and blessed person for having an opportunity to meet such people, although I must admit few great and successful life performers in the world of science, spiritual and personal development, writers, medical doctors, European administration. All of them have deeply inspired me on my path to becoming not only successful person but primarily a better human being.
Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation – Oscar Wilde
I’ll share with you what did I discover in terms of what is connecting all these people?
The first trait is their ORIGINALITY – they all all absolutely original and authentic. This brings me to a famous Oscar Wilde’s quote ”Be yourself because everyone else is already taken”. Sure , all these people have reached the top, yet, they did not loose themselves on their way to the top, so neither should you! You see, humans are born in originality but the world, external environment, well intentioned parents, school, etc. have been beaten us on pure average. Remember what your teacher (parents too) were telling you: ‘‘Behave yourself and do not be disruptive”, ” Talk and think like others good kids – Be like the others”…. The results of all these toxic and distorted beliefs is that we tuned with mediocrity, so one day we end up with 30 or 40 years old with lost sense of authenticity and originality being just one of the billionth member of an average persons on this plane . That fact makes me really sad. Hence, live your original and authentic life and get back to your originality like when you were small kid. Love your true talents and values and fear not! ”Be yourself because everyone else is already taken”!
Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination – Oscar Wilde
The second trait the great people share is their BOLDNESS. In other words, they all took risk of living and went out of their comfort zone. They did experience number of challenges on their road to success and they did not play small having enough courage and faith to face all the obstacles and fears that they encountered. They commit themselves with what they loved doing and courageously faced with fear too. Fear is good if you learn how to handle it as it can be a great opportunity for your personal development and growth. So be bold in this world in doing what you love, in what you expect and facing things, events and people that scare you too.
I think God, in creating man, somewhat overestimated his ability – Oscar Wilde
Great people are actually a very good people although they may not seem to you. Do you know why? Because your perception is just your projection of your inner-self. They possess a great trait of HUMANITY. Unfortunately we live in the world whereby being a cynic is almost encouraged notably in the virtual world in social media. However, I have new for you – being human is always about being a movie star! Being human does not mean fluffy talks about what I do, who am I, how much I earn, what is my title and social position. It’s far from the true. Being human means being a loving , kind, empathetic, humble, ego free in room full of people, kind to strangers, smiling, – people who have skills in listening rather than babbling and rumbling. To illustrate further on I’ll tell you about our Afghanistan taxi driver whom we engaged during our stay in Dubai for a week. Although obviously very poor and modest guy being aware that he work 24/7 for miserable salary , he always appeared to be smiling, tidy, clean, servile. We talked a lot and when I asked him how come that he’s so happy and enthusiastic in spite of super modest life he lives far away from his family he left in Afghanistan, he replied to me that he witnessed so much suffering and death in life so when see sees a healthy and alive people he immediately feels pumped, happy, inspired to live and grateful.
Indeed, this world is needing desperately more genuine humanity! S.O.S.
It is because Humanity has never known where it was going that it has been able to find its way – Oscar Wilde
The last (but not least) trait the great people and leaders have is their SKILL OF MASTERY combined by the knowledge and understanding in who they are and what they do. So, you too can be Picasso, Tesla, Celine Dion, Dr Oz, Elon Mask, Keanu Reeves, Steven Spielberg…if you just commit yourself to the mastery of your craft no matter what you do, being a teacher, doctor, lawyer, accountant, parent. If you’re unable to do it by yourself, get a help! Get studying! Get a mentor, get a coach who will guide you on your way of becoming a great person. Not to forget to highlight the most important thing is that you do whatever you wish to do not for an applause in the audience, ”likes” in social media, because that’s only ego driven activity. Becoming genuinely a good and kind person means to be a persons who is ready to share his/her confidence and self-love to other people and share with them your values in order to inspire others to becoming great!
Live! Live the wonderful life that is in you! Let nothing be lost upon you. Be always searching for new sensations. Be afraid of nothing. Oscar Wilde
