Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself -Tolstoy
As you sow so shall you reap
Life is all about choices we are taking on daily basis – those small and big ones, hence, you’d better keep intentionally choosing how you are living. The choices you make today will ultimately add up to the kind of life you create for yourself. You may argue and say I am not so beautiful talented, wealthy to be educationally privileged, etc. and yes, you may be right that you’re not that wealthy or talented as friend of yours, nevertheless, we all have capacity to be great because greatness comes by recognizing that your potential is limited only by how you choose and use your attitude.
Has anyone ever told you and explain to you that the choices you’ve determined your thoughts, people you are surrounded by, media and books you consume, and actions you are taking, have all shape and define your life? Not only, that you must take responsibility for it?
Why is so? It is so simply because should you decide for whatever reasons to shift number of responsibilities to other people or circumstances, you will empower those negative forces. What I am saying is, if you believe that some ‘external’ causes of your current condition have caused your life as it is – misfortune, unhappy, etc. that is not the case, believe it or not. I know myself how easy can be falling into the trap of a mediocre life if we don’t take ourselves responsibility and control over our lives and act on them. The days slip into weeks, the weeks into months, and the months into years and one day before you wake up, it is all over. So, you’d better learn a CEO of your own life, and start knowing yourself to develop better habits and behavior that well serve instead of the other way around.
At the end of the story, your actions always have consequences. In other words, be good human being, do good things for yourself and others and the good will flow back to you. On the contrary treating yourself poorly whereby falling into the traps of bad habits, you can not escape from paying a high price.
I am sure you know what do I mean, don’t you?
Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself -Rumi
